About
The internet has brought cultural dilemmas around sexuality to the forefront as more people engage with porn, online dating and relationships, cybersex, and teledildonics than ever before. When fantasies are repressed, they can be split off and compartmentalized, detached from relationships and objectified in porn, or onto the technical non-human side of the internet, real or illusionary. Are all these issues keeping therapists in business, or did the sex therapy as a field create a model for polarity itself – one where addiction and ‘sex positivity’ are at opposite ends of the same spectrum? And finally, what is sex ‘addiction?’ This vital course will answer these questions and how to engage with individuals and couples experiencing: • conflict and shame around sex • intimacy issues, boundaries, and technology • conflicts that arise at the intersection of the internet and relationships. Finally, you will learn how to adhere to professional ethics with your sex and couples clients.
