AASECT Certified Sex Therapists are licensed mental health professionals, trained to provide in-depth psychotherapy, who have specialized in treating clients with sexual issues and concerns.

 

Sex therapists work with simple sexual concerns also, but in addition, where appropriate, are prepared to provide comprehensive and intensive psychotherapy over an extended period of time in more complex cases.

The Certified Sex Therapist program includes courses  covering a wide range of topics in human sexuality development as well as training in sex therapy methods and interventions.

​

ISTI is an approved AASECT provider and all of our courses will meet the core knowledge areas required for your certification. 

​

Certification through AASECT requires 164 hours advanced training comprised of:

  • Sex Education (90 CE Hours)

  • Sex Therapy or Sex Counselor (60 CE Hours)

  • A unique integrative-focused Sexual Attitude Reassessment (SAR) (14 CE hours)

  • + 50 Hours Supervision (not included)

Mastering Sex Therapy 

You may be eligible to accelerate your certification with up to 30 hours of transfer credits from approved training programs. Check here for more info.
